Add-On Cooling

How It Works

Add-On Cooling consists of one outdoor and one indoor unit. The indoor unit is connected to your ducted heating system, effectively enabling it to provide both air-conditioning and heating through the same ducts and outlets. The ducting size for Add-On Cooling is larger than for ducted heating, which is why it can only be added to specially designed systems. Like other systems that we provide it has the ability to be zoned, to help accommodate and effectively cool larger homes.

Add-on airconditioning is added to your gas ducted heating which will allow you to run refrigerated airconditioning via the same ducting that delivers the warm air in the winter months

An Add-on Cooling system is not only an addition to your existing heating system. It will also add to the value of your property and to your own comfort through the summer and winter months. Our consultants will make sure that this system is right for you and that it is configured to provide the most effective service possible. Add-on Cooling is an investment in your home and your comfort..

The air that you receive in the home is filtered dehumidified air. A cooling coil is installed in the sub-floor or in the ceiling cavity (depending on the location of your heater) and an outdoor condensing unit is installed outside the home. The cooling works by using the fan in the heater to then flow over the cooling coil which is pumped cold by the outdoor condensor.

In the same way that air passes through a gas-fired heat exchanger, a cooling system passes air through an indoor cooling coil where the heat in the air is transferred to a refrigerant. The refrigerant carries the heat outdoors where it dissipates into the outside air.

Cooling systems can be installed at the same time as the gas ducted heating or at a later date, as required.

Installation

This system can be installed on to your existing system or we can install both the heater and cooling system at the same time. You can zone this system so that you are only cooling the areas of the home that you are using. This will save you real money in energy costs.
